The event was arranged in cooperation with the company MASSONG.
The seminar and exercise are in line with and supporting the FRISK regional activities in Germany. The day was split between a 4-hour theory lecture on fireline safety, equipment and fire behaviour factors. As a result of this introduction tactic and strategy approaches were developed. The afternoon saw a 1 ha plot being burnt on which new techniques, especially the combination of hand tools (e.g. blowers, beaters, knapsacks and gorguis) were applied and tested. A pump-and-roll exercise with a fire truck, not very common in Germany, rounded the day off. A real accident with a car fire, was treated as an incident-within-the-incident and made the training exercise very real, educational and rewarding for the participants.
